Church Times – Sydney votes for diaconal and lay presidency

(via Thinking Anglicans)

An interesting development, and one that I’m not entirely opposed to.

  1. Noting only that should one be authorised to preside, one is, de facto and de jure, a presbyter by historical standards. The selection and licensing, in this case, paralleling the Ordination process. It’s a silly title issue. Of course anyone one with a communities selection and a bishop;s blessing can preside at the table: that *is* Ordination.

But I do like the idea.
