Although I was initially envious of AKMA’s ‘blog’s “Genius” score, I realize that I prefer this reading level, mainly because it means that the ‘blog can be read and understood by most adults.

    By comparison, CNN.com gets a “Junior High” reading level . . .

    Interestingly, the national average reading level for American adults is 7th grade. Newspapers, magazines and other media sources geared to the public are written to meet that standard. So in effect, CNN is right on target. The sad commentary is that our reading level is that low.
