Intercessory Prayers
Sixth Sunday after Epiphany, Year C

Refreshed by the living word of God, let us pray for ourselves and others.
(Pause)

C Fount of Wisdom, blessed are those who walk not in the counsel of the wicked but delight in the Lord. Enable us and all those in civil or church authority to heed your counsels Lord, in your mercy,

A Hear our prayer.

C God of Peace, we pray for all those places near and far, at home and abroad, touched by conflict especially the Middle East, Afghanistan, and anywhere peace is absent, tranquility is disturbed, and security is unknown Lord, in your mercy,

A Hear our prayer.

C Defend of the Lowly, your Son told us, “Blessed are [the] poor, [those who] hunger, [those who] weep, and [those who are] cast out. We pray for inclusion of all, the liberation of the captives, and the salvation of all those on the margins of our society and communities. Lord, in your mercy,

A Hear our prayer.

C Divine Providence, you search the mind and try the heart. Help us trust in you, especially during times of trial and adversity. Lord, in your mercy,

A Hear our prayer.

C Source of Healing, we pray for the sick and the suffering, especially
that you may give them help, comfort, and wholeness. Lord, in your mercy,

A Hear our prayer.

C Lord of Life, we remember and give thanks for thos who have died in Christ, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep, and make our belief in the resurrection firm. Lord, in your mercy,

A Hear our prayer.

C Gracious God, we give you thanks for the Communion we will soon share, the Body and Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and we pray for those unable to be hear to whom this heavenly banquet will be taken this week. Lord, in your mercy,
