Feast: the Ordination of Florence Li Tim-Oi

24 January 2007

Today’s feast, for which readings can be found here, commemorates the ordination of the first female Anglican priest, Florence Li Tim-Oi. It’s interesting because although Florence Li Tim-Oi was, by all accounts, a virtuous and model Christian, the feast is really more about what happened than the person it happened to.

All the same, let us remember Florence Li Tim-Oi today as an example of humility, service and a desire for unity with the the Church of God.
