Feasts: Gregory of Nyssa and William Laud

10 January 2007

In what must be an instance of somewhat humorous liturgical coincidence, today is the (Roman Catholic) feast of Gregory of Nyssa and the (Anglican) feast of William Laud.

Here are some websites about Gregory and his work.  A humorous website about can be found here.  I don’t know much about Laud, but in some ways he was not such a nice guy.  Altough I like Gregory, I think there were some things he got wrong.
Let us remember these two great, sometimes maligned, and sometimes just plain wrong men of God.
